La Parrilla was started by Raymond Jock after going to culinary school. He was able to study under both Wendall Thompson, and Gordon Kapp, two of Florida's top chefs. Soon after he made the decision to move NYC, which is considered the restaurant capital of the world, to pursue his passion. He first opened a restaurant in the upper west side of Manhatten but after 6 years Raymond accepted a position of a personal chef and traveled around the country for a while. He finally moved back to his hometown of Oswego, NY to open his own restaurant. His restaurant is a Mediterranean style bistro that uses locally produced products. He even changes his menu seasonally to reflect the product that he is able to get.
